Microsoft has recently released an update supposed to fix battery issues experienced by Lenovo Miix2 8 tablet owners who made the move to the new Windows 8.1 operating system.

The company hasn’t provided too many details on the cause of the problems, but said that “this issue occurs because the device cannot enter a low power state mode.”

As a result, the battery life is dramatically decreased, so users are strongly recommended to download and install the KB2913236 Windows 8.1 update.

The update is aimed at all versions of Windows 8.1, but it’s only delivered to Lenovo Miix2 tablet, so no other devices are being supported.

Similar battery issues have also been reported on other tablets, including Microsoft’s very own Surface, but the company has already provided some workarounds to address them and restore the full autonomy of the battery.
