Microsoft is getting through a major transition after CEO Steve Ballmer has announced a new restructuring plan, but it turns out that the reshuffle also takes part in some other subsidiaries across the world.

Mariano de Beer will officially become the new president of Microsoft's Brazil operations, according to ZDNet, as the current head of the local unit will retire.

Even though the reasons for this switch are still unknown, de Beer, who's currently chief executive of education at media corporation RBS, will work together with the current President Michel Levy to ensure a smooth transition.

Steve Ballmer's plan is taking shape at a global level, and is pretty clear that Microsoft is aiming at increased profit on the long term, but analysts still warn that it all comes down to the overall quality of the products the company will launch in the coming years.
