Microsoft has just released this month’s Patch Tuesday updates, unveiling a total of 7 bulletins designed to fix 20 different vulnerabilities in Windows, Office, Internet Explorer, Server Tools and Silverlight.

The Internet Explorer bulletin is codenamed MS13-021 and is aimed at 9 issues in Microsoft’s in-house browser.

“The most severe vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited these vulnerabilities could gain the same rights as the current owner. All but one of these issues were privately disclosed and we have not detected any attacks or customer impact for any of the issues,” Microsoft explained.

The Silverlight update, labeled MS13-022, fixes a bug that would allow an attacker to take control of a vulnerable system with the help of a compromised website. Microsoft claims the issue was privately reported and no successful exploitation has been confirmed.

The four critical and the three important fixes are being delivered through the integrated Windows Update option, so all of them are automatically deployed on the affected platforms.
