Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 3 last month in New York and shipments of pre-ordered units are expected to begin this month, but the company is trying to make sure that more people are buying it by publishing the first commercial on YouTube.

Just as expected, Redmond is focusing a lot on the laptop capabilities of the Surface Pro 3, pointing out that it's the perfect notebook replacement because it comes with state-of-the-art portability and powerful hardware.

The Surface Pro 3 is featuring an i3, i5, or i7 processor, depending on the version you choose, and boasts two different memory options, with 4 or 8 GB of RAM available. Storage versions start at 64 GB and go all the way up to 512 GB.

Probably the main setback when it comes to buying a Surface Pro 3 tablet is the price, as the top-of-the-range model is available for no less than $2,000 (€1,500).

While the hardware it comes with is undoubtedly pretty powerful, this price puts the Surface Pro 3 in the same region with high-performance laptops, so it remains to be seen how many people are actually prepared to pick a 2-in-1 device and replace the traditional notebook which obviously comes with an even large screen.
