The company is emailing staff to inform them that reorganization continues

Microsoft is reportedly emailing employees to reassure them that Steve Ballmer’s reorganization plan announced more than one month ago is going forward, even though the CEO will soon leave the company.

Citing two people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg is reporting that some members of Microsoft’s senior leadership team started sending emails to employees on Friday, soon after Ballmer made his retirements plans public.

The company is thus trying to prevent any confusion that might be created around its future, as the newly-founded committee continues the search for a new CEO.

Under Ballmer’s reorganization plan, Microsoft would continue the transition to a devices and services approach, as the company is trying to expand its product lineup with a more appealing offering that’s not entirely based on software.

Now the new heads of the “new” Microsoft are unsure whether they would retain the same roles when the new CEO joins the company, the same source adds, with some people with knowledge of the matter hinting that some executives could even leave after they get their stock grants and bonuses at the end of this month.
