Microsoft recently launched a special Surface Pro version in Japan and hinted that the same model could arrive in the US too, but it seems like the company is now trying to expand international availability of this particular unit.

According to a report by LiveSide.net, the Surface Pro 256 GB is now on sale in China via Digital China, but Microsoft is yet to publicly announce it.

The only difference between this model and the other versions available in the Surface Pro family range is the available storage space, so the tablet is specifically aimed at users who wish to save lots of content on the device.

There’s no official word on this, but rumor has it that Microsoft is also getting ready to debut Surface RT and Surface Pro updates that could see daylight sometime in the next 12 months.
