Just as we told you a few hours ago, Microsoft today launched the Surface RT tablet in new markets, including New Zealand, but it appears that the company has also debuted the device in Japan.

With pricing to start at $600 (€460), the Surface RT is available to Japanese buyers in the same three versions, with 32 GB or 64 GB of storage space, with or without a Touch Cover. The 64 GB version is only offered with a Touch Cover included in the package.

In addition, it appears that Microsoft will use the upcoming Ghost in the Shell: Arise anime to promote the device, as the company is trying to make sure that all Japanese users are aware that the Surface RT has landed in the country.

The tablet is slated to go on sale in some new countries in the coming weeks, so we’ll keep you updated on this.
