The second-generation Surface tablet is almost here, so Microsoft is now trying several strategies to make sure that its new products will sell like hot cakes.

The company has turned to street art to make people aware that a new Surface tablet is launching, a strategy that has also been used in 2012 before the unveiling of the first-generation unit.

Microsoft has posted multiple pictures on the official Surface Facebook page to show several billboards across the United States and promoting the new device, pointing out that sales will officially begin on October 22.

Both the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 are up for preorder at this point, but shipments will only begin four days after the launch of the Windows 8.1 operating system scheduled to take place on October 18.
