Microsoft recently introduced Cortana, a Windows Phone 8.1 personal assistant that’s powered by Bing in order to provide users with helpful suggestions, recommendation and information found online.

Redmond has used the ideas behind Cortana to make the experience provided by Bing a bit more personal, so the search engine can now display personalized news, flights, and stocks based on the information that you provide.

The next time you log into your Microsoft account and launch Bing, you will be asked to set up your interests and thus allow the search engine to keep an eye on anything that you might need to see.

“The best part? As long as you're signed in, Bing will remember your interests and notify you, as appropriate, across a range of Bing-powered Microsoft services, such as Cortana and the Bing Sports app, for example,” Chen Fang, program manager, Bing, said today.

This new feature is currently available in the United States exclusively and only for a number of accounts, so in case you’re not seeing it already, just wait for a few more days and check again.

Microsoft has promised to improve it even more in the coming months, so expect plenty of new features to Bing that could turn it into a much more personalized search engine capable of providing you with the information you need, when you need it.
