Microsoft is again going through a major transformation process that’s supposed to push it closer to a devices and services concept, but this takes a lot of time to complete, the company’s CFO Amy Hood said.

Hood explained in the same conference call, used by Microsoft to announce its latest financial results, that the Redmond-based tech giant was working with partners to achieve its goals, but warned that more time was needed to do this.

“We are working hard with our partners to gain share in the evolving and growing device market. I want to be very clear - we know we have to do better, and that’s one reason we made the strategic and organizational changes we made last week. With over 1.5B Windows users around the world, a transition of this magnitude takes time. We are confident we are moving in the right direction,” she said.

CEO Steve Ballmer has recently announced an ambitious plan that’s supposed to allow Microsoft to focus more on devices and services, as the company is struggling to succeed in some other markets besides software.
