It’s not a new thing that Microsoft is planning to expand its tablet family, but it appears that the company isn’t looking into smaller devices for its Surface range.

According to a new report published by IndiaTimes, Microsoft has partnered with Panasonic to develop a 20-inch tablet that could go on sale sometime this year.

While the two companies refuse to comment on this subject, it appears that the upcoming device would use Windows 8 Pro or Windows RT and would be offered with a 3840x2160 screen resolution specifically aimed at users seeking a high-performance display.

It’s yet unclear whether Microsoft plans to include its version of the tablet in the Surface family, but previous reports have hinted that the Redmond-based technology giant actually intends to release smaller devices, including a 7-inch unit tailored for gaming.
