Microsoft recently unveiled the second-generation Surface tablet in multiple storage versions, as the company wanted to provide its customers with a wide array of options when it comes to disk space.

As it happened with the first-generation models, the available space on the revamped Surface tablets is dramatically reduced by Windows and the other pre-installed apps, including Microsoft’s very own Bing tools.

The 512 GB Surface Pro 2 for example has 451 GB of available storage space, while the 256 GB version offers only 212 GB on the disk, according to an updated storage FAQ published by Microsoft recently.

The Surface 2, on the other hand, comes with much less space. The 32 GB version has only 18 GB of available disk space, while the 64 GB version offers 47 GB.
