Microsoft will launch the Surface tablets in several new countries as soon as this year, with the company confirming on Twitter that South Africa is one of the markets to get the tablet in just a few months.

While no specifics have been provided, the tech giant revealed in a short tweet that Microsoft is at least considering a potential launch of the Surface RT and the Pro in South Africa.

“Indications are that Surface will launch in South Africa in the 2nd half of 2013,” the company said via its official MicrosoftSA Twitter account.

At this point, Microsoft is also trying to expand international availability of the Surface Pro in Europe, with some new markets, including the UK, Germany, and France, in the pipeline to receive the table by summer.
