As you probably know if you’re a Microsoft watcher, the Redmond-based technology giant remains tight-lipped on Windows 8 sales, even though several analysts and experts have attacked the new operating system on a regular basis.

The company is expected to release more information on Windows 8’s sales performance on Thursday as part of an earnings conference call webcast when Microsoft will publish fiscal year 2013 third-quarter financial results.

Windows 8 uptake remains disappointing for the time being, with market share figures pointing to a 3 percent share reached after five months on the market.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has previously said that Windows 8 sales are in line with those recorded by Windows 7 after launch, with approximately 60 million copies sold in just two months.

More details, however, will be provided this week, but don’t expect Microsoft to admit that Windows 8 is indeed a disappointing product. Just saying.
