The company is trying to make everyone aware that a new market is available

Redmond-based tech giant Microsoft is trying a different approach to promote the revamped Surface tablet generation, trying to make everyone aware that a new version is available with a tour across the United States.

The company has announced on its Store Facebook page that Panos Panay, head of the Surface team, would start a tour in the United States to demonstrate the Surface 2 in different locations.

All these live Surface 2 demos will take place before October 18 when Microsoft is projected to launch the new Windows 8.1. Four days later, the company will start shipments of the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2.

Here are the dates and locations of the company’s Surface 2 tour:

September 30th - University Village in Seattle, Washington October 1st - Westfield San Francisco Centre in San Francisco, California October 2nd - Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, California October 3rd - Houston Galleria in Houston, Texas October 9th - Dadeland Mall in Miami, Florida October 10th - Specialty Store at Shops at North Bridge in Chicago, Illinois October 15th - Specialty Store at Time Warner Center in New York City, New York October 16th - The Shops at Prudential Center in Boston, Massachusetts October 17th - Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia.
