Microsoft has recently signed a deal with the Philippines Department of Tourism (DoT) and with the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) to support the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” with a Windows 8 application.

The so-called “More Fun Series” Modern app would provide access to information about local destinations in Windows 8’s new Metro interface. The new application will be available for both desktop and tablet users.

"The app assists us to disseminate info to certain travellers. For example those who want to learn more of what Iloilo has to offer, they can use the mobile app and have a glimpse of Iloilo," DoT Undersecretary Daniel Corpuz told Philstar.com.

In addition, the Department of Tourism has also expressed its intention to join forces with some other software companies across the world, hinting that Android apps are very likely to be released in the coming months.
