As we told you a bit earlier, Microsoft is trying to establish a new world record by bringing the biggest number of developers together to create Windows 8 apps.

AppFest takes place in Bangalore and 3500 people have already attended the show, out of the 1.2 million developers in India that are said to work on the Microsoft platform.

“Developers are at the center of Microsoft’s success. And India is home to some of the world’s most talented developers. We are focused on enabling developers to succeed as they build the next generation of apps,” said John Devaan, Microsoft corporate vice-president, Windows development.

Developers will be asked to choose their favorite Windows Store category and build applications during an 18-hour coding marathon that started a few minutes ago.
