VLC for Windows 8.1 is still a work in progress, even though VideoLAN has raised the necessary funds for the project as part of a Kickstarter campaign launched more than one year ago.

And still, the developing team says that the app should reach the store in the coming weeks, as they recently submitted the app to Microsoft for approval but got rejected due to an audio issue.

Now VideoLAN has revealed some new screenshots with the app in action, showing that the UI has been improved to take full advantage of the Modern UI and make it easier to use for beginners.

As VideoLAN President Jean-Baptiste Kempf told Neowin in a short statement, the developing team continues work on the reported audio issue, so the application is very likely to be released for download in just a few weeks, as soon as Microsoft publishes it in the store.
