Microsoft and Nissan have joined forces to bring more women into the world of tech with the help of the DigiGirlz program launched by Microsoft more than 10 years ago.

The event took place at Nissan’s American headquarters in Tennessee and was led by former Titans cheerleader Jennifer Hill. Now a process engineer and manager at Nissan Motors, Hill was one of the women who were trying to pursue a career in technology, so the DigiGirlz program was the right opportunity.

According to the Japanese car manufacturer, only 18 percent of those who apply for an engineer role are women, so finding the necessary workforce for its business is quite a difficult mission.

Microsoft is holding similar events all over the world in an effort to show teenage girls the advantages of developing a career in tech.
