Symantec today released a new version of its popular Norton 360 security software, so users who are now running it are advised to deploy the update as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the security vendor hasn’t provided any documentation on the new release, so nobody can tell for sure if there are any new features offered to users. Still, the build is most likely supposed to address some previously reported bugs, so Norton 360 20.4.0.40 is probably supposed to be more stable and lighter on hardware resources.

Just like the previous versions, the new release is supposed to work flawlessly on all Windows versions, so you can install it on both the old Windows XP and on the new Windows 8.

Another good thing about Norton 360 is that it supports 32- and 64-bit operating systems alike, so it can protect basically all Windows computers on the market.
