Notepad++ has been updated to a new version today. The new release has rolled out in order to eliminate a regressed bug, which caused the wrong behavior when trying to save an empty file, preventing the action from completing.
Simply put, whenever you tried to save a blank file the application would show a warning message informing that there was no more disk space available. As such, the user had to abort the operation.
Although saving a blank file is not exactly a widely spread scenario among users, the developer issued the fix that led to releasing Notepad++ 6.1.8.
Notepad++ can be installed on your computer, but you can also use the portable version, which can be carried on a removable storage device.
