The defacement that disrupted the normal activity of Notepad++ website recently did not pass away without consequences as the developer has taken some action in order to protect the integrity of Notepad++ installer.

According to an official announcement of the app’s developer, only the database of the website was compromised, the binaries of the application remaining untouched. Furthermore, he informs that the entry point of the website has been secured.

Additionally, in order to avoid any tampering with the application, the installer will be accompanied by a certificate that proves the file is the exact one intended by the developer. However, until this is carried out (which is more like a long term endeavor), the SHA1 hash codes will be published at this address, for all future releases.

Safe copies of the Notepad++ installer can be downloaded from our servers, on this page.
