Brushes off both general and platform-specific issues

There is a new release candidate for Opera 12 available for download, with more fixes, which brings the application closer to a stable build.

Despite being in RC stage, the current build also deals with some serious issues, such as the browser crashing upon exit, shapes missing in SVG demo or reloading an SDE in developer mode leading to either a freeze or the extension being corrupted.

Some platform-specific problems have been eliminated, as well. As such, switching from a different application on Windows does not prevent Opera from reacting to keyboard input and using detached panel windows does not lead to serious drawing issues anymore.

Problems on Mac systems included failure to drag and drop a file from OS to element with “dropzone” attribute and crashing on dragging/closing windows.

The only problem affecting Opera on Linux/FreeBSD was lack of support for GTK under FreeBSD 9.0.

Update: RC 4 has just been released for Opera 12, adding a handful of fixes. Windows 64-bit builds are not ready at the moment.
