A new update has been released today for the developer channel of Opera browser, incrementing the build number to 18.0.1264.0. It is available for both Windows and Mac platforms and announces lots of stability repairs and improvements.

Some of the crash bugs affecting this revision of the application would be triggered by clicking on the badge of secured pages, by selecting Synchronise from the main menu, and even when clicking on the badge on secured pages.

Usability of the browser has been increased a tad by offering users the possibility to create a search engine by simply right-clicking on the search field. This option is currently available only in the Developer channel.

Additional glitches the development team had to deal with included a crash in the renderer as soon as the password auto-filled. On the same note, Opera Stable would lose the default web browser status after uninstalling the Developer version.

The list of bugs fixes is quite extensive and includes platform-specific entries.
