Users have total control over a page’s camera access

Support for webcam is no longer locked in the experimental builds of Opera. Starting snapshot 1372 this feature has been integrated into the web browser.

The development team also provides some testing ground, through demos such as Photo Booth, Polaroid, Color Picker, Explode and Speedo.

The user has total control over the websites that are granted access to the camera. Furthermore, an indicator shows if the loaded page has already been allowed to use the camera without additional permission requests.

The same indicator informs if the camera is currently in use or not; it is available in the page information dialog or in the page bar button (for background tabs).

Also, you can change the camera permissions at all times. The page overlay menu offers the possibility to “always allow,” “allow once,” or “deny” access to your system’s webcam.
