Oracle released a new build for their virtualization product, branch 4.0, making the version number 4.0.16. It is a maintenance release aimed at improving overall stability and to fix regressions.

VRDP repairs are at the top of the list (screen corruption and screen freeze), but fixes include other parts of the bundle as well. NAT has been adjusted as the interface would stop working after many failed ICMP requests. Also, a rare crash of VBoxSVC has been eliminated.

VMDK/VHD also underwent some adjustments caused by a possible corruption with host cache disabled when using snapshots.

Another fix refers to incorrect framebuffer information after leaving the full-screen mode with X11 guests (Solaris and Linux). The problem could lead to distorted preview window in the GUI.

ON Mac OS X hosts, the current build repairs the issue with duplicate packets when bridged to wireless interface.
