Futuremark Corporation rolled out a fresh update for PCMark 8. The new version number is 2.0.191 and brings to the table improvements touching on the built-in benchmarks (Home, Creative and Work).

The developer informs that the current build features an increased number of tests based on popular open source applications that can assess hardware capabilities for image processing, video editing and spreadsheets.

More diversified workloads have been introduced in Work benchmark, the goal of this move being simulation of computer usage in enterprise environments.

In the case of the Professional Edition (the only one licensed for business use, priced at $1,495 / 1,105 EUR) two fresh options have been added to the Storage benchmark; these are designed to perform a special analysis of the drive performance.
