The development of the beta version of Rainmeter 2.2 advances, with new features being added at each release. In the latest revision, 1084, this slick-looking desktop customization tool introduces a new plugin, as well as signed executable files.

The importance of the digitally signed executable files is pretty obvious, since it eliminates false positives from security software available on your system.

Moreover, malware or other third-party developers won’t be able to make changes to the installer without getting caught.

You can check the certificate information in the properties menu of Rainmeter executable (installer, Rainmeter.exe, Rainmeter.dll and SkinInstaller.exe).

The new plugin included in the application is designed to allow the detection of a specific process among the currently running items.

With Rainmeter, you can customize your desktop with skins, which are functional applets able to return even information about current usage of system resources.
