Real Madrid's multi-billion euro team might be a fan of Audi's car models, but in a recent ad, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Gareth Bale, and even manager Carlo Ancelotti all seem to be really excited about a number of Windows Phone models used for texting.

Madrid's top players, including Isco, James, Keylor Navas, Toni Kroos, Benzema, Felipe Reyes, Nocioni, Sergio Llull and Sergio Rodríguez, took part in a new video campaign that's supposed to promote the city of Madrid, highlighting some of its main tourist attractions.

While there's no doubt that Madrid is quite a beautiful city that's worth visiting if you're a world explorer, we need to leave that aside and focus on the Microsoft side of the video which has Cristiano Ronaldo using Redmond's affordable flagship Lumia 830.

The other players starring in the commercial also use Windows Phones, and while no features or phone capabilities are being highlighted, there's no doubt that this is quite a smart image hit for Microsoft.

And yet, this shouldn’t be such a huge surprise. Microsoft and Real Madrid have an ongoing partnership since late 2014, so the Spanish football club receives tablets and smartphones belonging to the Redmond-based tech giant, including the very latest Lumia models.

Given Windows Phone's small market share, there's no doubt that such partnerships are really helpful for Microsoft, especially because Real Madrid was, is, and will continue to be one of the top football clubs in the entire world.
