After the recent update for Speccy, Piriform released a new build for Recuva, the file recovery tool. The current revision is 1.43 and adds no new features, except for the ability to recover Alternate Data Streams (ADS), but packs several improvements.

Recuva 1.43 brings to the table better support for files larger than 4GB and NTFS permissions are now reported correctly.

Additional improvements refer to reporting for failed zero byte files, accuracy of recovery potential for JPEGs and handling of free space during recovery. Furthermore, Pirifom also tightened up the support for multiple monitors.

More changes in this release touch on filters, as they are now applied dynamically and have a lower impact on memory usage. On the same note, they are now added to the “Save as file list” feature.
