Satya Nadella, currently in charge of Microsoft’s cloud division, has confirmed that he wants to stay at the Redmond-based tech giant even if he’s not picked CEO of the company.

Nadella is currently one of the leading candidates for the CEO spot, but he told Bloomberg in an interview that he wanted to remain with the company whatever the choice for a new leader would be.

“Microsoft is an exciting place to be at now. It’s an amazing spot to be in,” he said.

Nadella also confirmed that, even though Microsoft was still looking for a new leader, the company’s business hasn’t been affected at all.

“It’s not like there wasn’t any change we had to navigate over the past 30 years,” he said. “If we didn’t know how to do it, we wouldn’t be here. We’ve shown our ability to re-engineer ourselves.”

Satya Nadella is currently one of the front-runners for the CEO seat, along with Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally. internals Kevin Turner and Tony Bates, as well as former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, who are also said to be in the race for the CEO position.
