It brings no major updates and features are derived from Firefox 7

The latest SeaMonkey Internet suite comes with no major changes compared to the previous release, but as it is built on the same platform as the latest version of Firefox 7 it is fair to say that it experienced some improvements.

Support for HTML5 and hardware acceleration as well as faster JavaScript are among the top changes. Basically all the latest developments available in Firefox are also available in SeaMonkey 2.4. As such, memory usage has been trimmed down and Canvas operation has been sped up on Windows through the newly added rendering method, which now uses Direct2D.

Security fixes are also on the list of improvements in the new SeaMonkey and include critical vulnerabilities (exploitable crashes in WebGL crashes, code installation through holding down Enter key, etc.) as well as moderate ones.

SeaMonkey 2.4 is available in 24 languages, for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
