If you’ve already made the move to Windows 8.1 RTM and you’re now looking for apps that can work flawlessly on the new OS version, here’s one supposed to help you upload and download files to and from FTP servers.

SmartFTP is currently one of the top FTP clients on the market and starting today, it’s also one of the apps that are fully compatible with Microsoft’s new Windows 8.1 RTM.

According to the official release notes, SmartFTP 5.0.1339.0 now comes with support and certification for Windows 8.1, so the app is supposed to work on the Windows 8 update just like on all the other Microsoft operating systems out there.

Of course, SmartFTP comes with the same feature package on Windows 8.1, including tools to upload and download files, create backups, set up proxy and firewall configuration, and configure multi connections, both remote and local.
