TechSmith just launched version 11 for their screen capturing application, Snagit. The new release brings to the table new features, a hefty set of improvements and it drops support for certain capture types and some file formats.

Video capturing has been improved and the developer added support for MP4 video output and spell-checking for callouts and text capture. On the same note, the default installation now includes Camtasia Studio, Screencast.com and YouTube output options.

The current release improves support for scrolling capture in Google Chrome and overall performance, especially for images with transparency.

Some of the abilities of the application have been dropped in this revision. As such, file formats such as MSP, CAL, PCX, or RAW are no longer supported. Also, Snagit can no longer be used to capture full-screen DOS windows or extract icons from EXE and DLL items.
