Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is one of the high-profile executives that will attend the opening ceremony of a new store in Troy, Michigan, as the software maker continues its efforts to open new stores across the US.
CBS Detroit reports that Ballmer will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, while Kelly Clarkson will then hold a special performance outside the Somerset Collection shopping center at 5 p.m.
Just like all the other Microsoft stores, the new location is supposed to provide easy access to the company’s latest products, including Windows 8 and Surface tablets.
Word is that Microsoft is already looking beyond the United States to expand its retail network, as the company could open new stores in Europe.
London is currently believed to be one of the cities that might get a Microsoft store in the coming years, if Microsoft’s European expansion plan goes through.
