While Microsoft remains completely tight-lipped on the way its two tablets perform after launch, everybody points to a rather disappointing uptake, as Apple’s own iPad continues to lead the market.

The same Samsung official who criticized Windows 8 for its failure to boost PC sales also revealed that Surface demand is very low, but he hasn’t provided any official figures.

“MS’s rollout of its Windows Surface tablet is seeing lackluster demand,” Jun Dong-soo, president of Samsung’s memory chip division, said according to Korea Times.

Microsoft, on the other hand, says the Surface Pro is selling like hot cakes, as most stores across the US ran out of tablets only hours after the official debut of the device.

All versions are again back in stock right now, so you can purchase a Pro tablet from either Microsoft or its partners in the US and Canada.
