The December 2013 Surface Pro 2 firmware update is causing quite a lot of issues to users, as their tablets are now affected by several problems after deploying the new version.

Users who posted on Microsoft’s Community forums revealed that Surface Pro 2's battery was quickly getting drained after installing the new firmware update released as part of the Patch Tuesday cycle.

“Since I installed the December update this Tuesday, the battery of my Surface Pro 2 always completely discharges overnight, from 99% to 5% in less than 7 hours. It used to last days on standby without me noticing battery drain at all,” one affected user explained.

Microsoft is yet to release a statement or a workaround, but given the fact that so many users actually reported problems with this firmware update, expect the company to address all issues in the near future.
