Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2, which is currently the most advanced Microsoft tablet to date, has received a new firmware update this morning, so all users should check for new versions as soon as possible.

The new firmware brings quite a lot of improvements, including Surface Display Panel 1.0.20, which provides tuning to the Surface display calibration, Surface Pro Embedded Controller Firmware 24.00.50 that resolves hibernation and battery percentage display issues, as well as Surface pro System Aggregator Firmware 2.04.0150.

At the same time, Redmond also rolled out the Surface Touch Cover 2 Firmware Update Device 2.0.228.0 update to improve two-finger touchpad use, as well as fixes for bugs affecting repeated Surface Cover attaches and detaches and the on-screen keyboard.

The new firmware version is currently shipped to users via Windows Update, but make sure that your Surface battery is fully charged before launching the installation process.
