Statistics published in the Windows Store by Microsoft indicate that the tech giant’s Solitaire Collection remains the number one free game on Windows 8.

And still, there’s a game that has significantly increased its popularity in the last 30 days, overtaking both Drift Mania Championship 2 Lite and Jetpack Joyride to become the third most popular free game in the Store.

Simply called Tetris!, this new title is now the third choice for Windows 8 adopters, as Solitaire Collection and Cut the Rope (still available with a freeware license) top the rankings.

In case you’re wondering, Tetris! is nothing more than a Metro version of the classic puzzle game that offers support for both Windows 8 and Windows RT.

“The game is basically fit pieces falling from the top of the screen to form complete horizontal lines which then disappear. Upon completing number of missing lines, the level increases and the blocks begin to fall faster. If you can not complete the full line parts and get to the top of the screen, then you lose, and your Record may appear online highlighting his country,” the game description reads.
