Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 2 with 512 GB might be a very expensive tablet, given the fact that it’s priced at $1,799 (€1,335), but it turns out that it’s already experiencing a surprising success.

At this point, users who try to purchase the top-of-the-range Surface Pro 2 model are provided with a “coming soon” message that’s displayed when attempting to submit the preorder.

Surprisingly, Microsoft provides no information on availability date, even though it’s pretty clear that the 512 GB model is the star of the entire Surface lineup.

The company has already confirmed that it would be selling only a limited number of 512 GB tablets, but no details as to when it would become available have been provided.

All the other versions are still available, so you can always purchase a Surface Pro 2 with 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of storage space if you really need a Windows 8.1 Pro tablet.
