If it's visuals you want, it's got to be 3D

Everyone wants and prefers to work in its own style. Comfort provides a boost in both efficiency and productivity. As such, Windows itself can be customized with built-in features or third-party applications.

Many attempts have been made over the past few years to somehow integrate the third dimension into computer use. While recent discoveries in technology promise to pull the virtual environment from the computer and integrate it literally in your room, others do the exact opposite.

Just here for the looks

If you’re curious by now, just go ahead and download Real Desktop. Make a backup of your system or simply install it in a virtual environment to make sure all remains in order.

The desktop quickly transforms in a well-polished 3D room. Icons and other elements are also stylish. Interaction is done normally, and icons even bump into each other and slide around the floor.

An abundance of settings are available by hovering your mouse at the top of the screen. The toolbar lets you change colors and textures of everything you see, or even create several themes and have them changed according to moods. What’s more, the camera is fully customizable as well.

To sum it up

Although not recommended for everyday use, we have to admit that it does take desktop customization to a whole new level. If you plan on using it, just make sure to keep activities simple and your PC upgraded, because it tends to hog resources.
