Microsoft mistakenly posts tweet promoting the Surface wireless adapter

As we’ve told you yesterday, Microsoft has decided to discontinue the Surface wireless keyboard adapter and even though it refused to provide any clear reason for this decision, it was pretty clear that the slow sales behind the product were the main factor.

Now it appears that communications between Microsoft’s departments aren’t going quite well, as someone who has access to the Surface Twitter account posted a message advertising the discontinued product.

While it’s a bit surprising that the Surface team decide to praise the wireless keyboard adapter only a few hours after Microsoft confirmed that it’s stopping sales of the device, it turns out that it was all just a mistake from someone working for the company’s social business.

As Neowin reveals, the tweet was removed shortly after that, so it’s no longer available right now, but someone at Microsoft might be in trouble now after the unfortunate post of the message.

If you’re wondering how come Microsoft decided to discontinue the accessory, here’s what the company said in a statement yesterday:

“Due to a number of factors, we are no longer manufacturing the Surface Wireless Keyboard Adapter. We are always evaluating our options and remain committed to helping people be productive with Surface.”
