This is how things are going these days in the Redmond campus: while the software giant prefers not to talk on Windows 8’s sales performance, analysts continue to blast the new operating system, pointing to its disappointing early uptake.

A new survey conducted for business software vendor Sage North America and focused on medium-sized businesses (SMBs) reveals that interest in Windows 8 is still low and only a few users are actually planning to make the switch to the new OS.

According to a report by ITBusiness.ca, only 20 percent of the respondents revealed that they are either already using Windows 8 or planning to deploy it in the near future, while 19.8 percent of the users said they had no intention to change their operating system.

23.4 percent of the respondents admitted they are still thinking at installing Windows 8, while 36.7 percent are still undecided when it comes to their desktop operating systems.
