TightVNC’s Java-based cross-platform viewer has reached a new version, which fixes a very small set of issues.

First on the list is a compatibility problem with Apple Remote Desktop. Version 2.1 of TightVNC Java Viewer also allows you to adjust traffic requirements by picking an appropriate color depth. The selectable interval runs from 3 to 24 bits per pixel.

Although the aforementioned are the most important of the problems solved in this release, the developer also included minor improvements and fixes.

With TightVNC Java Viewer you can connect to any computer running a VNC-compatible server and check out the activity. You can also use it to control the remote system using the local mouse and keyboard. Since it is written entirely in Java, the application is compatible with all operating systems.
