The progress on Total Commander 8.01 continues with the release of a new interim build for the file manager. This revision aims to further refine the application by getting rid of specific glitches preventing the release of a stable version.

Release candidate 5 fixes the new 64-bit install.exe that works on Linux as well, under Wine emulator, which also came with CAB unpacking.

It also adds a new placeholder in the built-in multi-rename tool, which inserts complete file name with extension, but without the path.

Additional repairs refer to the tab context menu failing to react to right-clicking on a menu item, a problem with uploading to FTP server, as well as a rare crash that occurred when in “Compare by content” screen when initiating “undo” operation.
