The development of Total Commander is getting closer to a stable release as the author rolled out a new beta build recently.

This is the fourth beta for version 8.50 of the file manager and it includes repairs for the most part, but plenty of new features are also available.

Introduced in this revision is the option to remember the position of the background transfer manager window; it is available in the system menu. Also new is a dialog when creating CRC checksums that allows you to create SHA256+SHA512 and remember option "separate checksum files."

Furthermore, the developer included the possibility to verify the “copy in place” task (Shift+F5) and the directory synchronization process.

The fresh release can display the files in an archive even if the package is plagued by an error such as lack of a file that is part of a multi-part archive.
