Microsoft keeps improving the default Windows 8.1 Metro apps, so today it’s Video’s turn to be updated with a new round of features and bug fixes.

The Video app has thus received a new update today, getting curated lists of movies and TV series that makes it easier to find great content, according to the official release notes.

At the same time, the new build comes with minor fixes and improvements, which means that it should now work faster and be more reliable regardless of the platform you are currently using.

A very important thing to take into consideration is that updates for Windows 8.1 Metro apps are automatically delivered to devices running the new OS version, so unless you changed the default configuration, the new build might be already there.

“Xbox Video brings you the latest HD movies and TV shows on your Windows 8/Windows RT device and makes it easy to watch what you love wherever you are. Rent and buy new blockbuster movies and favorite classics, or catch up on last night's episodes of the hottest TV shows,” the app description now reads.

Of course, the new update is being delivered to both Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 devices, so download Video right now to see what’s new.
