Oracle just released a minor update for their virtualization software, VirtualBox. Since it is a maintenance release, no new features are available, just fixes and improvements.

The modifications available in VirtualBox 4.1.12 squash bugs affecting the Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and touch on the audio component, fixing a crash in the NUL audio backend.

Improvements also brush up on Guest Additions, eliminating the VBoxService crash on exit, setting the correct time stamp when closing a file (Windows) or bringing fixes for Linux 3.4-rc1 compilation (Linux).

Moreover, the new build comes with better sanity check against reading beyond end-of-file and a fix for a crash during save state under rare circumstances (HGCM).
