Microsoft has significantly improved some of the features available in Windows 8.1, trying to offer a much more user-friendly experience to consumers who decide to make the move to the new modern platform.

And as far as Lenovo is concerned, Redmond has done a great job and Windows 8.1 is light years ahead of Windows 8.

“Microsoft has made a good comeback with 8.1, and they acknowledge that they didn’t get it right with 8,” Lenovo ThinkPad product manager Simon Kent was quoted as saying by TechCentral.ie.

“They have done a good job with 8.1 and it is definitely much better than before. The speed to boot up is noticeably quicker, and the reliability, particularly on a touch screen, is noticeably better and more fluid. The customisability of the tiles, and how you can create your own blocks of tiles, is also much easier.”

Windows 8.1 is being offered free of charge to all Windows 8 users, with the update available as a free download from the integrated store.
