14 DAY TRIAL // If you’re one of the many Windows 8.1 Preview adopters and you’re using a Surface Pro, you might experience what seems to be a widespread bug that affects wireless connectivity on this type of device.
Users who have posted on the Microsoft support forums claim that Wi-Fi drops unexpectedly on their Surface Pro tablets after deploying Windows 8.1 Preview and there’s no workaround to deal with the issue.
“I have noticed the same problem. My WIFI has dropped 3 times since I installed Windows 8.1 Preview. I have a solid WIFI setup and never had any connection issues on my Surface Pro with the factory setup of Windows 8,” one of the affected users explained.
Microsoft is yet to release a fix for this bug, but given the fact that the company is rolling out Windows 8.1 Preview updates on a regular basis, expect a patch anytime soon.
